ORLEN Neptun becomes the Strategic Partner of the 13th Edition of the Postgraduate Programme in Offshore Wind Energy at Gdańsk University of Technology

On 6 March 2026, the 13th edition of the postgraduate programme in offshore wind energy was inaugurated for the 2025/2026 academic year at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology of Gdańsk University of Technology. The strategic partner of this edition is ORLEN Neptun – the offshore wind energy competence centre within the ORLEN Group. The company’s portfolio includes two offshore wind farms — Baltic East and Baltic West — as well as Poland’s first offshore wind installation terminal, the Świnoujście Offshore Terminal.

Local content prioritized by ORLEN Neptun Polish companies at the key stage of designing the Baltic East offshore wind farm

A consortium of three companies – PROJMORS ASE Group Sp. z o.o., RAMBOLL Polska Sp. z o.o. and Enprom Sp. z o.o. – will perform preliminary design works and design works, develop Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) technical parameters and obtain building permits for the Baltic East offshore wind farm. The entities engaged have extensive experience gained both in the completion of the first phase of domestic offshore wind power projects and in the development of projects abroad. The participation of Polish companies at this key stage of the Baltic East project is part of the implementation of the industry’s development strategy based on the so-called local content, i.e. utilizing the potential of the local supply chain.

ORLEN Neptun begins the preparation process of a service port for the Baltic West offshore wind farm

ORLEN Neptun has entered into a reservation agreement with the Kołobrzeg Sea Port Authority. The agreement includes the reservation of land in the Kołobrzeg Sea Port, which will enable the preparation of a service port for the operation of another ORLEN Group offshore wind farm developed within the phase II of offshore wind energy development – Baltic West.

Baltic East – winner of the first Polish offshore auction

The ORLEN Group has reinforced its position in the offshore wind sector after the Baltic East project won an auction for offshore wind farms conducted by the President of the Polish Energy Regulatory Office (URE). The outcome represents a major step towards expanding renewable energy capacity and strengthening the security and stability of Poland’s energy system.

Baltic East moves forward. Environmental decision secured.

Baltic East, the most advanced second-phase offshore wind project within the ORLEN Group, has obtained an environmental decision for the offshore wind farm, issued by the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Gdańsk (RDOŚ). This key milestone brings the investment closer to participating in Poland’s first offshore wind auction, scheduled for December this year. The farm, with an installed capacity of approximately 1 GW, has the potential to supply clean energy to more than 1.25 million households.

Seabed surveys completed for the ORLEN Group’s next offshore wind farm

For nearly four months, preliminary seismic and geotechnical seabed surveys were carried out across the Baltic East offshore wind project area by three specialist vesels from a consortium of Polish companies: ORLEN Petrobaltic, Geofizyka Toruń and MEWO. During the campaign, a team of qualified researchers, technicians, and operators completed over one thousand kilometres of seismic lines, along with numerous soundings and boreholes. The data collected will enable ORLEN Neptun, an ORLEN Group company, to develop the next key stages of the project.

The most advanced project of ORLEN Neptun - the Baltic East offshore wind farm - has received a decision securing the area for offshore transmission infrastructure, which will ultimately enable the transmission of electricity produced by the farm.

ORLEN Group opens the first offshore wind installation terminal in Poland. First contract already in place

ORLEN Neptun, spółka z Grupy ORLEN, uruchomił w Świnoujściu terminal instalacyjny dla morskich farm wiatrowych. To pierwszy w Polsce i jeden z najnowocześniejszych w Europie tego typu obiektów, który będzie kluczowym zapleczem koncernu dla realizacji projektów wiatrowych drugiej fazy. Z terminala korzystać będą także zewnętrzni operatorzy. ORLEN Neptun pierwszy, długoterminowy kontrakt podpisał z hiszpańsko-francuskim konsorcjum Ocean Winds, jednym z największych deweloperów morskiej energetyki na świecie. Terminal w Świnoujściu docelowo umożliwi instalację kilkudziesięciu turbin wiatrowych rocznie, stając się najważniejszym centrum instalacyjnym offshore wind w regionie Morza Bałtyckiego.
