ARP S.A. has signed letters of intent with ORLEN Neptun and PGE Baltica regarding cooperation in the offshore wind energy sector

The cooperation will encompass a range of activities designed to enhance the Polish companies’ ability to build offshore wind farms at every stage of project implementation, including joint conceptual and design efforts, identifying competency gaps in Polish firms, analyzing regulations to facilitate the sector’s operations, and securing financing.

Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu is actively engaged in building sustainable industrial capabilities for Polish companies in strategic sectors. We are implementing a program for the development of nuclear energy, and we are now working intensively on solutions to support local content in the offshore wind energy sector. Our aim is to ensure that as many contracts as possible are awarded to Polish manufacturing companies. At stake are contracts worth billions of zlotys, as well as a unique opportunity for a technological and organizational leap forward that will enable them to become permanently integrated into international supply chains. Cooperation with developers is an essential element of the process, providing a crucial investor perspective - commented Krzysztof Telega, Vice President of Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu S.A.

Offshore wind energy stimulates the development of industry, technology, and human capital, while also playing a significant role in the country’s energy security and climate transition.

Increasing the participation of Polish companies in the offshore wind energy sector’s supply chain remains one of our priorities - says Sławomir Staszak, Vice-President of the Management Board, Energy, ORLEN S.A. The level of involvement of domestic suppliers in the Baltic East and Baltic West projects is already high. However, further cooperation among developers in this area will allow us to strengthen the capabilities and competitiveness of Polish companies more effectively, as well as increase their share in executing contracts for major components. We believe that these joint efforts will lead to the sustainable development of the domestic offshore wind supply chain - he adds.

Building a strong domestic support base for offshore wind farms requires a long-term commitment from the entire energy sector.
