Baltic East with a permit to lay and maintain cables in the areas of internal marine waters and territorial sea
The most advanced project of ORLEN Neptun - the Baltic East offshore wind farm - has received a decision securing the area for offshore transmission infrastructure, which will ultimately enable the transmission of electricity produced by the farm.
Preliminary conditions for connection to the transmission grid, permit to erect or use artificial islands, structures and equipment have been issued for the project in the water region 46.E.1, and the procedure for issuing an environmental decision is at an advanced stage. The farm, planned for the area of approx. 110 square kilometers and with an installed capacity of approx. 1 GW, has the potential to provide clean energy for up to 1.25 million households in Poland.
ORLEN Group, in accordance with its strategy, is planning to reach 12.8 GW of installed renewable energy capacity by 2035. With the securing of 5 new sites for offshore wind farms, the Group's generation potential may soon increase by approx. 5.2 GW reaching a total of about 6.4 GW of offshore wind capacity.
