Poland’s offshore wind sector has the potential to become one of the strongest drivers of the national economy — fully unlocking its capabilities means as much as 33 GW of capacity and investments reaching PLN 869 billion. This represents a powerful boost for industry, the labour market, and public finances.
Poland already has a solid foundation for developing a local supply chain. Around 500 domestic companies have the competencies and resources enabling them to participate in offshore wind projects — from component manufacturing and engineering services to logistics, construction, shipyards and academia. The growth of the sector opens new business opportunities for companies both in the Pomerania region and across the country.
ORLEN Neptun is consistently working to maximise the share of local content in its projects. In line with the objectives of the Sector Deal for Offshore Wind Development in Poland, we strive to ensure that the widest possible range of services and supplies is delivered by Polish companies — during the preparation, construction and, importantly, the up to 30‑year operational phase of our projects.
We are actively strengthening cooperation with domestic companies by maintaining an open dialogue with the market. We organise Supplier Days, webinars and workshops that support information exchange, explain project requirements, and help companies better prepare for participation in procurement processes related to offshore wind projects.
Polish companies are already actively involved in the Baltic East project. One example is the consortium of three domestic entities — MEWO, ORLEN Petrobaltic and Geofizyka Toruń — which carried out seabed surveys for the project.
Another key element supporting the capabilities of the local market is the Świnoujście Offshore Terminal — Poland’s first installation terminal dedicated to offshore wind projects, opened in June 2025 by ORLEN Neptun. This infrastructure provides essential facilities for the national and regional offshore wind sector.
